Editorial Guidelines - Best Gold Money

Best Gold Money publishes research on Gold IRA and precious metals investing. This page sets out how we produce that content, where our figures come from, and what our commercial relationships do and do not affect.

Our commitment to accuracy

Every figure we publish is checked against a primary source. Our research process draws on:

Official sources including the IRS, the SEC and FINRA for rules, thresholds and regulatory positions.
Company fee schedules as published, or written confirmation obtained directly from the provider where a schedule is not public.
Depository and custodian documentation for storage terms, and the Better Business Bureau for company grades.

Where a figure cannot be verified against a primary source, we mark it as unavailable rather than estimate it. Where third-party sources disagree, we say so instead of choosing one.

Content creation and review

Research and data collection. Information is gathered from official sources, company documentation, and direct correspondence with providers.
Drafting. Content is written for clarity, with the source of each figure identified.
Review. Articles are checked internally for factual accuracy and compliance before publication.
Updates. Content is revised when a company changes its terms or a regulatory threshold moves, such as the required minimum distribution age.

Editorial independence

Best Gold Money is reader-supported. We earn a commission when readers request information through links on this site, and commission rates differ between companies. Some companies also hold a Featured Partner placement, which reflects a commercial arrangement and appears in a clearly labelled box, separate from the editorial ranking below it.

What that arrangement affects, and what it does not:

Ratings are not affected. A company's score is an editorial judgment across seven published criteria. Commission rates play no part in it, and requests from companies to raise a rating are declined.
Placement in the Featured Partner box is affected. That is the nature of the arrangement, and we label it on every page where it appears.
Editorial ranking is not affected. The numbered list is ordered by rating. A Featured Partner appears in it at whatever position its rating earns.
Disclosure is visible before the first affiliate link, not buried at the foot of the page.

Our full rating methodology is published, including the criteria, how they are weighted and where each company is strongest and weakest.

What we do not publish

We do not publish price predictions, claims that precious metals cannot lose value, or personal investment recommendations. We are not financial advisors, and nothing on this site is a substitute for advice from a licensed professional who knows your circumstances.

Corrections

If you find an outdated figure or an error in any article, tell us. We check it and correct it. In a sector where fee schedules change without notice, reader corrections are genuinely useful and we treat them that way.
